How LONG TO DOWNLOAD?
Download a pos demo from our web site to a temporary folder on your hard drive, then double-click it. Your browser will pop up a window asking if you want to Open or Save XXXX.EXE. Please select Save, by default the installer will install the program to the programs folder. Go to "Help" on the main menu then go to Quick Start" for a short setup, sales taxes, and salesman codes. You should be up and running in 5 minutes or less!
DO I HAVE TO START OVER IF I PURCHASE DEMO?
No - All Customer and inventory data is preserved, just call or email us to purchase. An unlocking key will be issued via email to open up the program.
I am upgrading from TRS-1 to Wintrs-pos can I Transfer my data?
Yes - We Provide a conversion for the inventory and customer files. All new invoices and transactions will be on the new system. Use the old system as a legacy for all prior transactions.
What are the system requirements for WinTrs-pos?
A Pentium with minimum of 256 megs of memory and a hard drive with a minimum of 40 gigs of storage.
Any special computer brands recommended?
No - Local retailers such as Office Depot, Best Buy or a local computer shop can offer you excellent value. We recommend purchasing a service contract for your equipment.
will the program run on my network?
Yes - it is multi-user network ready just install WinTrs-POS on the Server (Main computer with all the data files). Use the Windows networking to to share the program with all the work stations. Setup a "share" for the entire "server" drive where WinTrs-POS is installed. Go to each workstation and use Windows Explorer to map the host drive as Drive X:. Now use Windows Explorer to create a Shortcut pointing to WinTrs-Pos-Exe on the server.
Is peachtree accounting necessary to run wintrs-pos?
No. WinTrs-POS is a self contained system to run retail stores, invoicing, inventory management, customer database, and purchase orders. A general ledger interface is automatically generated to Peachtree accounting. You may also just print out a report with all pertinent accounting information and manually enter into your existing general ledger accounting system.
What is trs4dos?
Trs4Dos is a tried and proven deluxe POS software system since 1985 which offers customer invoicing, purchase orders and inventory management absolutely free.
who should consider trs4dos?
Ideal for retailers with existing computers 5 years or older, with no plans to upgrade hardware. Trs4Dos will run on any computer from 1990 to the present day computers.
why choose wintrs-pos over trs4dos?
WinTrs-POS is designed using the "Windows" standard. It is mouse driven and offers flexible support for a multitude of printers, barcode scanners and charge card verifiers under the control of Windows. Multiple windows may be open at the same time to do lookups etc.. Reports are more elaborate and incorporate the "drill down" feature (display all the detail that makes up a total). Trs4Dos is a "Unix" type system, only one program can run at a time. Hardware such as printers, and scanners are controlled by the program. Reports provide the same basic information as WinTrs-Pos windows version.
